What is the help desk? Help with your knitting or crochet questions, whether they be technique questions, project help, whatever you need help with.
When can you access the helpdesk? At every monthly meeting from 6:30-7:00. There is not usually a person designated to help but if you ask you will be pointed to someone who can help you. A virtual time is also a possibility - those will be posted in our FaceBook group.
This event has finished for 2026. This is a members only event. Decompress from the holidays at a social knitting event. We had a great time this year at our annual knit-in.
Since this year is really a learning year, this is going to be geared to those who are knitting their first sweater, but all are welcome. We will be knitting the hot Step by Step Sweater by Florence Miller - a free pattern on Ravelry. It is an aran weight, raglan pullover.
We will meet virtually the 3rd Tuesday of each month at 6:30. The link will be posted in our Facebook group or you can email president@mvkg.org to get it. The tentative schedule is:
March: download and look at the pattern, choose your size, purchase yarn, swatch. I will help anyone get the pattern set up in Knit Companion who needs it.
April 21: Before this meeting: Make sure you have your yarn; finish, block and hang your swatch; have your pattern ready with your chosen size selected. At this meeting: we will cast on and work on the neck. You will need to decide on funnel neck or folded neck - they are the same length. The folded neck will be demoed.
May 19: You should have completed your neck and be ready to start the yoke - change to your bigger needles and be ready to go. Have stitch markers at the ready! We will be knitting the next round and placing markers to start the raglan increases, tackling those increases, and the short rows (if you already knit that row, you can use locking stitch markers and place them).
June: body
July: body and ribbing
August: sleeves
September: finishing
This is a members only event and has ended for this year. Watch for next year's event.

Unless otherwise noted, the time for these is 10-2. You need to bring a chair or towel to sit on, your food and beverage, and any projects you wish to work on. Look for our sign to find us.
May 30: Carillon Park, Dayton – we will be under a tree in front of the brewery. If it rains we will move into the brewery. Prices in the brewery are a bit high and they are a bit slow. They are a great place for a beverage though.
